What to Do Before a Power Wash

At Peak Power Wash, we want you to have the best experience possible when it comes time for a cleaning! If you’re gearing up for a power wash on your home’s exterior, here are a few steps you should take to ensure the process goes smoothly and efficiently.

Close Up

The last thing you want is for the interior of your home to receive an unplanned shower! Make sure to tightly close and secure all windows and doors around the area you’re having washed. Remember to keep an eye out for gaps and damage as well– wear and tear is inevitable after years of weathering, and windows and doors do need to be replaced or repaired after a number of years. If you’re unsure about the state of your windows and/or doors, consider having them inspected before your cleaning date. You’ll want to know about any cracks or gaps in old structures before the power washing starts!

Remove All Obstacles

While power washing professionals are good at their jobs, they (probably) aren’t ninjas. Take a moment to clear any decorations, lawn equipment, or garden accessories from the area that needs to be cleaned. The fewer objects an employee has in their way, the faster they can finish the job! If it’s hard to water the plants at the back of the flower bed lining your house, it’ll probably be hard for workers to power wash your siding. No one can clean something they can’t reach with a stream of water!

The second part of this tip is keeping track of your pets. You don’t want to worry about the family dog getting underfoot or running through the spray of water when they get too hot! It’s a good idea to keep your pets inside or contained in a separate area during a power wash.

Avoid Electricity Issues

Water + electricity = danger and damage! Make sure to unplug any extension cords, cover outdoor outlets, and keep any electronic equipment well away from the water’s reach. You can never be too careful, especially when it comes to electrical risks. Don’t plug any cords back in until you’re certain everything is completely dry to avoid any shocks or damage.

Hire a Company You Can Trust!

The number one thing you can do to ensure a great power washing experience is to hire a great company, and we’re volunteering our team for the job!
