Which Parts of Your Home Should You Power Wash?

Power washing your home is one of the easiest ways to boost your outdoor space’s overall appearance. With that being said, pressure washing certain parts of your home or the area surrounding it can actually do more harm than good. To avoid potentially damaging your property, be sure to only power wash these key areas.

Decks and Fences

Let’s start with a disclaimer that you should only trust the pros with delicate surfaces like wooden decks and fences. Traditional power washing methods can actually wreak havoc on these surfaces. Luckily, we don’t use traditional power washing methods on any delicate surfaces. Instead, we use a unique technique called Soft Washing. We’ve had a lot of success with this lower pressure method due to our careful selection of the best and most environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals available.

Home and Siding

Over time, our homes and siding will get dirty just like any area surrounding them. Luckily, power washing a home is entirely safe the majority of the time. There are certain exceptions to this rule that you should be familiar with, however. As an example, a power washer that you pick up from your local hardware store can actually damage cedar siding. Despite that, you can still find cedar listed on the house washing page on our site. This is because we can safely pressure wash even the most delicate siding materials with the same Soft Wash technique we use on wooden decks and fences.

Concrete and Masonry

Power washing is completely safe for concrete and masonry, which is convenient because these surfaces get covered in things like dirt, mildew and oil stains much faster than most other areas surrounding homes. To prevent these stains from making their way back to your property over time, you can also put a sealer over your freshly cleaned concrete or brick. This isn’t a lifetime solution, but it will certainly allow you to put off your next power washing longer than you otherwise could.
